Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service. The Service is not intended for individuals below that age.

3. Description of Service

Career Coach AI provides AI-assisted tools for career development, including CV analysis, interview practice, cover-letter generation, and job-search guidance. Features may be added, changed, or removed over time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that reduce the functionality of paid plans.

4. Subscriptions, Billing & Auto-renewal

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis at the price shown at the time of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and you retain access until then. Payment is processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms.

5. Refund Policy

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital-service contract within 14 days of purchase, provided that you have not materially used the Service during that period. To exercise this right, email billing@careercoach.ai within 14 days of your first payment.

Outside the 14-day window, subscription fees are generally non-refundable. We may grant discretionary refunds in cases of prolonged service outage or billing error. Refunds, when approved, are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days.

6. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain all rights in the content you upload (CVs, cover letters, interview recordings, etc.) — we claim no ownership. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service for you.

All software, trademarks, logos, and other materials we provide remain our property or that of our licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.

7. AI Output Disclaimer

AI-generated outputs (interview questions, CV suggestions, cover letters, evaluations) are provided "as is" and may contain errors, omissions, or biases. You are solely responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them in job applications or other decisions. The Service is not a substitute for professional career, legal, or financial advice.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any law or regulation.
• Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights, is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, authentication, or security measures.
• Use automated means to access the Service except through documented APIs.
• Use the Service to generate content designed to deceive employers about your identity, credentials, or authorship.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

9. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may perform scheduled maintenance and may suspend the Service for security or integrity reasons. We will provide reasonable notice where practical.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Career Coach AI's total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g. death, personal injury, or fraud).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Career Coach AI harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Career Coach AI is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where you are a consumer, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; unresolved disputes may be brought before the competent courts, subject to any mandatory alternative-dispute-resolution mechanisms available to consumers.

13. Termination & Changes to Terms

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, for security reasons, or if we cease offering the Service; we will give reasonable notice where practical.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
